Have you heard of 500px? This is one of the new darlings of the online photo sharing community. I ditched Flickr a long time ago, and replaced it with a 500px account.
Why 500px?
500px, pronounced “500 pixels”, is increasingly the choice among photographers. The thing I love about 500px’s website is that it’s so clean and straightforward. None of the ridiculousness of Flickr comments or the awful, crowded layout. This site is all about showing off your best photos.
Even better, it’s super easy to send photos from Lightroom to your 500px portfolio. 500px has written a nice plugin that allows us to send photos to 500px without ever leaving the comfort of Lightroom.
Obviously, using that plugin is going to require us to have a 500px account. I would highly recommend heading over to their website to check out what 500px
is about and consider signing up for an account.
Installation
Head on over to their website to download the plugin. Next up, we need to install the plugin. I would highly recommend following their official instructions (PDF alert) for installing the plugin because they’re much better than what I could provide. Make sure and drop me an email if you need more help though.
